Myles Shepherd

Head Varsity Coach

A former Washburn Boys Basketball alumni (Class of 2012), Myles Shepherd understands #MillerPride on another level. 

 

After graduating from Washburn, Myles played at Augsburg University (formally Augsburg College) and pursued his bachelor’s in secondary education with a minor in mathematics.

Myles has coached for numerous programs such as; Minnesota Heat, Top Fight, Team Tyus, Minnesota Fury, Roseville (RYBA), Bloomington Kennedy and St. Thomas Academy.

Myles took over as Head Varsity Coach for Washburn in 2022. In the 23'-24' season, Myles was named Minneapolis Coach of the Year, 6AAAA Coach of the Year, and Minnesota AAAA Section Coach of the Year.

Outside of coaching, Myles teaches 8th-grade math at Prodeo Academy.

Christian Reyes

JV Coach

Christian, a graduate of Eagan High School in 2013, began his coaching career as an assistant with MN Select before quickly assuming the role of Head Coach for one year. He then spent two years as a Head Coach in the Eagan traveling basketball program. Christian also served as the former 9A head coach and assistant at Benilde St. Margaret’s basketball team.

Currently in his second year as Head JV Coach at Minneapolis Washburn, Christian finds immense fulfillment in coaching at Washburn, where he values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with his players and learn from experienced coaches in the program.

Outside of coaching, Christian teaches 5th and 6th grade at Tanglen Elementary.

Albert Hibbs

B Squad Coach

Albert Hibbs, a Washburn Alumni from the class of 2008, he was a former athlete in both football and basketball programs during his high school years. His coaching journey began as a volunteer on staff in 2023 and has since grown as an AAU basketball coach for two years.

Entering his second year as the B squad head coach, Albert takes great pride in contributing to the Miller program as an alumni. He maintains a deep passion for basketball and community engagement. Coaching is a longstanding passion, allowing him to actively participate in player development.

Outside the court, Albert holds a professional role in the financial industry at Ameriprise Financial.

Brendan Greenberg

Freshmen Coach

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Brendan made a mark in high school basketball at Brooklyn Friends School, earning accolades as a 1000-point scorer. His basketball journey continued at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Since graduating, Brendan has immersed himself in coaching for the past two years. He's been involved with Justice Page Middle School, coaching AAU for Minneapolis Central Elite, and a trainer in both New York and Minneapolis.

Currently, in his second year as Head Freshmen Coach at Washburn, Brendan finds genuine fulfillment in contributing to the program and nurturing young talent at Washburn.

In addition to his coaching role, Brendan also serves as the gym teacher at Justice Page Middle School.
